Why they are here
The martial artist and actor whose films in the early 1970s made kung fu a worldwide phenomenon and broke barriers for Asian actors in Hollywood.
Born in San Francisco and raised in Hong Kong, Bruce Lee became a child actor and a student of Wing Chun before founding his own martial art, Jeet Kune Do. His Hong Kong films The Big Boss and Fist of Fury broke box office records, and Enter the Dragon became a global hit.
He died in 1973 at the age of thirty-two, shortly before Enter the Dragon was released.
